Slain Deputy Coverage

The tragic news of a Sedgwick County Deputy losing his life while on duty is very difficult for a community. The three stations got the information out very quickly and it seemed with accuracy. KAKE was the quickest on live coverage of press conferences, however I thought KWCH and KSN had the best storytelling of the event. KAKE might have had more angles, but it wasn't put together as well as the other two. Your thoughts. -Hal

Sad day for the family that is for sure. Not sure I really care how the news coverage took place between the three stations on this event.... seems very childish when you look at the big picture of what happened.

Nothing of KAKE's ever looks cleans or well-present, add coherent to that. Good call. Then again when you have cut your newsroom in half in the past few months, what can you expect.

Hal, how can you hate on KAKE so much when they sign your son's paychecks?!

How's about we give compliments? Kudos to KSN, who shows us what true journalism is -- polished, professional, and scooping the competition. The other stations vacilated between panicked and one step up from Studio B.
